I consider myself lucky to be talking with Chris Hartjes also known as the Grumpy Programmer. He is well-known within the PHP community and has been talking at various PHP conferences in US and Europe telling PHP programmers to do testing in their work. For the longest time, he was the only person that has been preaching this. In fact, he even wrote a few books on the subject. You can get it all from https://grumpy-learning.com/
Talking to Chris in this episode, you really see how passionate (read: grumpy wink) he is about testing. I got scared that I changed the subject. An interesting thing I discovered was that Chris used to run a comic shop, that he sold years ago.
Chris works remotely with Mozilla but does not PHP at work. I also asked a few things about remote working, how it works, how to make it work, etc. I can see that he is happy that he doesn’t have to commute 3 to 4 hours every day like he used to. More time with the family and kids.
I hope you enjoy this one because I sure enjoyed doing it.
Thanks for talking to us Chris!
p.s. ~ I was not drinking beer. I don’t drink. That was 100plus.
p.p.s. ~ a thank you shout out to Yusri who allowed me to use his office and Internet at 9pm at night for the recording.
